NaNoWriMo 2016 Totals!
It has been one hell of a month, hasn't it? And now we're already getting things underway with NaNoFIMo -- that's National Novel FINISHING Month, for those of us who either didn't reach the 50k word goal, or who are pushing beyond the word goal in order to actually finish the novel we started. But win or lose, we did participate, and all levels of participation are reasons to celebrate.
Whether you win or didn't quite reach your goal, congratulations on another spectacular year of NoWri'ing!
Share with us your November totals, whether you made it to the finish line or not. And let's all congratulate each other on putting out our best, and striving for even better!

Re: NaNoWriMo 2016 Totals!
I got to 51,026. I'm in my final semester of a BA, so I was aiming for 50k. I got there, but I'm nowhere near the end of my story. I don't know how long this story is going to end up being, but I'm excited to pick my story back up after finals and continue working on it

Congratulations! That's fantastic, especially with a busy collegiate schedule and the holidays and finals looming. I know you're not alone in that battle.
The best thing about NaNo is that you've learned that no matter what else is going on in your life, you can find a way to squeeze in a few more words. It might be easier to pace yourself at 500 a day instead of 1600+, but you know you can get it done.
Besides; I believe in you. ^__^

Re: NaNoWriMo 2016 Totals!
I probably won't get much in before 2017 either because I'm from a Judeo-Christian family, so we do Hanukkah and Christmas. Then there are birthdays: I'm the 27th, my mom is the 24th, my uncle is the 15th and my cousin in the 19th. I'm also going to New York City from the 21st-23rd.
December's always crazy in our house, but hopefully I'll get some writing in while things are happening that I don't need to be a part of.

That's the best way to do it. Let your mind wander and keep your characters in mind. I like to jot ideas down on the notepad in my phone when a great scene or piece of dialogue occurs to me. You can always sneak in something somewhere.
Re: NaNoWriMo 2016 Totals!
I usually have my phone or a notebook near me at all times, so it's not a big deal for me to pick either up and write a couple sentences
